On March 27th, during the Boao Forum, Zhang Yaqin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, distinguished professor at Tsinghua University, and director of the Tsinghua University Institute for Artificial Intelligence Industry (AIR), delved into the topic of autonomous driving.

Zhang Yaqin pointed out his dedication to autonomous driving research in recent years. He believes that currently, autonomous driving is significantly safer than human driving, with a safety enhancement factor greater than 1, indicating a notable advantage in safety for autonomous driving.

Moreover, Zhang Yaqin mentioned the possibility of achieving the Turing test through the biological realm within the next five years. He noted significant potential in areas such as brain-computer interfaces and connections between biological organisms and large-scale models, but also highlighted substantial risks associated with these advancements.

Globally, major automotive manufacturers are actively investing in competition, accelerating the research and application of autonomous driving technology. This indicates that autonomous driving has become an important direction for the automotive industry's development, with all parties striving to promote its commercialization. s_07c22d00e4ed4f61990899cfd758fc28.jpg
