On May 9th, during last month's "Huawei Intelligent Car Solutions Release Conference," Huawei unveiled its latest high-precision 4D millimeter-wave radar.

Recently, the official detailed explanation of this product was released, showcasing its adoption of new technologies such as waveguide antennas, 4T4R, ultra-wideband, and 100M Ethernet, resulting in a comprehensive upgrade in perception capabilities.

Thanks to these advancements, the radar's performance has been further enhanced, significantly improving target detection and environmental modeling capabilities. It supports ultra-long-distance detection on high-speed and urban expressways, with a 35% increase in detection range compared to traditional radars, enabling a clearer view of the surroundings. Moreover, it offers higher imaging accuracy, ensuring precise detection, providing more confidence during mixed traffic and parking in urban areas.

Specifically, while traditional radars have a detection range of 210 meters during high-speed driving, Huawei's high-precision 4D radar extends this range to 280 meters, allowing for early target recognition.

Unlike traditional radars that do not support parking mode, with a vertical field of view of 18° and a distance accuracy of 20 centimeters, making it unable to identify small or high obstacles, increasing the risk of collisions during parking.

In contrast, Huawei's high-precision 4D radar supports parking mode, with a vertical field of view of up to 60°, a threefold increase, and a distance accuracy of 5 centimeters, a fourfold improvement. It can identify high and small obstacles, enabling timely detection of potential threats while parking. s_60977136b3a845969cc8f31bf94b92b0.png
