In her speech, Dong Mingzhu reiterated that Gree company adheres to a no layoff policy, which is part of Gree's corporate culture.
Dong Mingzhu stated that in the past, whenever one person left, another person had to be hired to replace them. However, with our technology now, when someone leaves, we no longer need to hire a replacement, so Gree has always promised not to lay off employees.
"We are retraining the young people who stay with us in their own technical transformation, constantly encouraging them to keep learning, improve their management skills, and transition from an ordinary worker to a manager or technician," Dong Mingzhu said.
It is understood that Dong Mingzhu once mentioned that if it really came to a very difficult situation, she would rather reduce salaries a bit than lay off employees, aiming to provide everyone with the simplest and most reliable security.
According to Gree Electric's financial report, the company achieved a total operating income of 205.018 billion yuan last year, a year-on-year increase of 7.82%; and a net profit attributable to the parent company of 29.017 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.41%.
As of December 31, 2023, Gree Electric had a total of 72,600 employees, an increase of 230 compared to the previous year.
