On May 12th, TikTok announced that it will automatically label all AI-generated content, videos, and images to prevent confusion and misleading viewers.

For over a year, content created using TikTok's AI tools has already included AI tags, and in the future, TikTok will also label AI content created on other platforms.

In a statement on Thursday, TikTok mentioned that they are expanding the existing automatic AI labeling scope through collaboration with the C2PA alliance (Content Authenticity and Provenance Alliance).

Previously, this label was only used to mark content generated using TikTok's internal AI tools. Going forward, all content created using AI will be tagged with "AI-generated" under the TikTok username.

TikTok stated that it is the first platform to implement C2PA content credentialing technology for video sharing. This technology attaches metadata to content, enabling the platform to identify and label AI-generated content.

The rapid advancement of generative artificial intelligence has heightened concerns about the spread of online misinformation and deepfake content.

TikTok mentioned that they have been cautious in developing AI content labels to avoid confusing users.

Furthermore, TikTok has been guiding users to recognize and critically evaluate AI content and the potential for information misinterpretation it may bring. s_9a270fc7caa94ad78fa58db3964483e6.jpg
