On March 25th, reports surfaced suggesting that Apple could abandon plans to include generative AI services in iOS 18, according to prominent tech journalist Mark Gurman.

Gurman noted in his latest newsletter that Apple is likely to dedicate a significant portion of its presentation during this year's developer conference to discussing its approach to AI integration, including how it views and incorporates this technology.

He mentioned being informed that Apple is still grappling with privacy concerns regarding the use of artificial intelligence, and the company's internal plans are expected to be more conservative compared to those of its competitors.

Therefore, Apple might ultimately decide to forgo partnerships with companies like Google and others, opting not to offer generative AI services in iOS 18.

Last week, there were reports of Apple partnering with Baidu, with Baidu providing technical support for the generative artificial intelligence mega-model embedded in iPhones.

Reports indicate that Apple's generative AI mega-model partners include Google, Baidu, OpenAI, and other companies. Baidu will provide AI functionality for iPhones in the Chinese market, while Google's Gemini and OpenAI ChatGPT will support AI functionality in other markets.

The specifics of the situation should become clearer at Apple's developer conference. 67e61512-eb9f-4ed3-b813-f347f2f4ebf3.png
