On May 28th, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in April 2024.
The report indicates that in April 2024, the shipment volume of domestic brand smartphones reached 20.576 million units, a year-on-year increase of 25.5%, accounting for 85.5% of the total shipments of mobile phones during the same period.
In the first three months of this year, the shipment share of domestic brand smartphones was 83%, 83%, and 82% respectively, while the 85.5% in April marked the highest value for the year.
This is related to the pace of new domestic phone releases. New models released this year include the OnePlus Ace 3, Honor X50 GT, OPPO Find X7, Honor Magic6, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Huawei Pocket2, Realme 12 Pro, and Huawei Pura 70, among others.
In the domestic market, Samsung phones have long been classified as "others," leaving only Apple as the strong foreign brand. However, Apple can only seize some market share after the launch of new models in September. In other months, domestic smartphones have consistently occupied over 80% of the market share.
