On March 13th, reports from the media revealed that Nature magazine interviewed three scientific advisors for the film Oppenheimer, seeking confirmation on the collaboration between director Nolan and them during the filming process.

Nolan believes that in the AI era, humanity once again confronts an "Oppenheimer moment," where those steering the development of AI technologies must, like Oppenheimer, shoulder the responsibility.

Nolan remarked that during the first nuclear test, many feared that nuclear fission could trigger an uncontrollable chain reaction, potentially annihilating the entire planet.

Today, prominent AI researchers like Hinton and industry titans like Musk worry that the advancement of AI technology could inflict irreversible harm on human civilization.

In an interview with Wired magazine, Nolan discussed the looming threat of AI. He stated that this issue has been lingering for some time but has not garnered sufficient attention. Over the years, the development of AI in weapon systems and the associated issues have become increasingly evident, yet only a few journalists have reported on it.

However, Nolan remains optimistic about AI, saying, "Artificial intelligence is a very powerful tool for us, and I am optimistic about it. Indeed, we should treat it as a tool, and what matters is that those who use this tool must be responsible for its use." s_2a73c25043b746c193b5f0e517faed08.jpg
