On April 30th, with the May Day holiday approaching, the demand for user travel is surging, and the economical and convenient hitch-sharing travel is favored by users.

However, the concentration of travel demands, longer journeys, and unpredictable weather conditions, combined with multiple factors, will lead to an increase in travel safety risks.

Therefore, on the eve of the holiday, the platform has launched a series of safety promotions and public notices on rule violations, strengthened fatigue driving safety broadcasts and civilized ride-sharing safety reminders, and in some cities, launched the "Hitch Safety Hotline" to effectively ensure holiday travel safety.

To collectively safeguard travel safety, Didi Hitch advocates users to pay attention to the following ten safety travel tips:

  1. Set up emergency contacts in advance: You can enable or disable automatic trip sharing for different emergency contacts. In case of using the 110 emergency call function or during emergencies, the system will actively notify your set emergency contacts.

  2. Refuse private contacts and transactions: When communicating about the trip, please use the Didi Travel App to call virtual numbers or send messages through the platform to contact ride-sharers. Pay attention to personal privacy protection and do not exchange real contact information. The platform strictly prohibits private transactions to ensure the normal functioning of all platform safety features and passenger accident insurance.

  3. Verify information before boarding: Passengers should check the license plate before boarding. If the person and the vehicle do not match, do not board. The car owner must ensure that the actual passenger and vehicle match the registered information. If the actual passenger does not match the registered information, and the situation is serious, the service will be permanently suspended.

  4. Do not carry dangerous items when riding: When traveling, comply with traffic rules and relevant laws and regulations, and do not carry flammable, explosive, controlled tools, or other dangerous items when riding.

  5. Fasten seat belts for the journey: Regardless of the distance, both front and back seats should fasten seat belts for a more comfortable and secure ride.

  6. Keep the app open throughout the journey: During the trip, the driver should keep the Didi Travel App open to ensure the normal operation of all platform safety features. This helps the platform continuously obtain location information during the trip. In case of emergencies, the platform can collaborate with the police to ensure travel safety based on effective information such as trip location.

  7. Activate recording protection function: In case of disputes, users can apply to the platform to check the recording for assistance. Didi protects the privacy of both drivers and passengers through encryption technology and strict recording retrieval regulations. Recordings will be automatically deleted after 7 days if there are no disputes. If the driver repeatedly fails to activate trip recordings, their service will be suspended.

  8. Use trip sharing function: Users are advised to pay attention to the driving route, heed app safety reminders, and use the trip sharing function to allow family and friends to view the trip status easily. When getting off, check that personal belongings and luggage in the trunk are taken, and be cautious of oncoming traffic when opening the door.

  9. Avoid fatigue driving: For long journeys, drivers should avoid fatigue driving. Before the trip, ensure adequate rest, and during the journey, take a break of at least 20 minutes after every continuous 4 hours of driving. Pay attention to weather changes, and in case of severe weather, reduce speed and drive cautiously.

  10. Travel courteously and communicate friendly: Use the trip notes function to express travel needs and willingness to share highway tolls. Drivers and passengers should negotiate and communicate politely, rejecting excessive chatting and harassing others.
