On May 12th, Mazda Motor Corporation recently revealed the declaration image of its latest mid-size sedan, the Mazda EZ-6, in the new vehicle catalog of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
As a new model developed jointly by Mazda and Changan, based on the Changan EPA hybrid platform, the Mazda EZ-6 is compatible with both extended-range and pure electric power systems, providing consumers with a variety of choices.
From the images released, the Mazda EZ-6 continues the Mazda family's "Kodo" design style, with its slim and elongated headlights giving the vehicle a sharp visual effect.
In terms of grille design, the pure electric version features a closed design, while the extended-range version has a hollow design. Both designs incorporate a continuous light strip around the grille, enhancing the technological feel of the front end.
At the rear, both the all-electric version and the range-extender version feature a continuous taillight design, retaining Mazda's classic semi-circular shape and adorned with chrome trim for an enhanced sense of depth.
In terms of dimensions, the Mazda EZ-6 measures 4921/1890/1485mm in body size, with a wheelbase of 2895mm.
In terms of powertrain options, the Mazda EZ-6 offers both range-extender and pure electric power choices. The range-extender model is equipped with a 1.5L range extender engine with a maximum power of 70kW, paired with a 160kW electric motor, and utilizes a lithium iron phosphate battery.
The pure electric model, on the other hand, features a single electric motor with a maximum power of 190kW, also equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery. Both models have a top speed of 170 km/h, catering to different users' needs for power and range.
