Deep Blue CEO Questions Excessive Pursuit of Motor Speed: Users Pay for Efficiency Loss Every Second

On March 18th, during the Deep Blue G318 Experience Day and Deep Blue Super Extended Range Technology Evolution Day, Deep Blue Automotive CEO Deng Chenghao raised doubts about the "excessive pursuit of high motor speeds" in electric vehicles. s_d4b9958ab27b4352960e79bc2bfd1cf7.jpg Deng Chenghao says, "A drivetrain with a peak speed of 20,000 RPM, compared to one with 30,000 RPM, has about a 1% difference in efficiency.

We could go for the 30,000 RPM drivetrain, but achieving that would mean a top speed of 300 km/h.

Chances are, most users will never need to hit that speed in their entire life. However, opting for this would mean that users are paying for the efficiency loss every single second.

Therefore, we don't believe in blindly chasing higher speeds." s_fb7d193802e9420fb8c506c6cb018665.png Reportedly, the upcoming new vehicle G318 under the Chang'an Shenlan brand will be equipped with the newly released Blue Whale Range Extender System by Chang'an Automobile. It boasts a high fuel-to-electricity conversion coefficient (3.63 kWh/l) and high power generation (peak power of 100 kW, continuous power of 70 kW at 3700 rpm).

According to the declaration information, the Shenlan G318 will feature a 1.5T engine as a range extender, offering both single-motor and dual-motor versions. The single-motor model will have a maximum power of 185 kW for the driving motor.

For the dual-motor version, the maximum power of the front and rear driving motors will be 131 kW and 185 kW respectively, with a combined system maximum power of 316 kW. It is expected to provide two battery pack options: 18.99 kWh and 35.07 kWh.
