On April 17th, AMD unveiled two new desktop processors: Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F.
Now, the Ryzen 7 8700F has arrived at our review lab. Let's take a closer look.
Built on the Zen 4 architecture, the Ryzen 7 8700F maintains the key features of its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 8700G, including 8 cores, 16 threads, 8MB L2 cache, 16MB L3 cache, and a 65W thermal design power.
As a processor with the "F" suffix, the Ryzen 7 8700F ditches the integrated Radeon 780M graphics. However, this shouldn't be a concern when paired with a more powerful discrete graphics card.
Notably, the Ryzen 7 8700F lacks integrated graphics but boasts an NPU, the Ryzen AI independent engine, providing robust support for applications such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Moreover, the AMD Ryzen AI is upgradable. With time and AI advancements, new AI function models will be continuously introduced, allowing for efficient AI tasks both in the cloud and on local client devices.
