Cost-cutting measure: Samsung reportedly not upgrading battery capacity, charging speed for new flagship! Domestic brands take notice

On April 30th, it was reported that Samsung, the world's largest smartphone manufacturer, is foregoing adjustments to battery capacity and fast charging technology in its upcoming flagship models.

Samsung is said to continue using the 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging technology in the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra, following the footsteps of the current Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Since the launch of the Galaxy S21 Ultra in 2021, the 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging technology have been standard features of the Ultra series.

The initial plan was to adopt the faster 65W fast charging technology with larger capacity in the next generation flagship, but due to cost considerations, this plan has been put on hold.

This is not the first time Samsung has taken cost-saving measures, and it may not be the last.

Furthermore, Samsung is also considering releasing two versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, each equipped with Exynos and Snapdragon chips. Releasing versions with their in-house Exynos chipset in certain regions helps reduce Samsung's component procurement costs. s_76cc36d79a96416f9b97067ea4ad5587.jpg
