March 20th, 2023—CORSAIR has announced the release of their new white-themed RMx SHIFT White series of power supplies, ranging from 750W to 1200W in wattage.
The new units adhere to the ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 standards, earning the 80 PLUS and Cybenetics Gold certifications, and present PC enthusiasts with a new aesthetic and an alternative to the standard black color while maintaining the clean and cable management-friendly design of the original RMx SHIFT series.
Design-wise, the RMx SHIFT White series retains the fully modular nature of its predecessor but repositions the modular interface from the traditional rear of the unit to the side, giving users a clearer view and easier access to the modular connectors. This change not only simplifies the installation and cable management process but effectively addresses common cable routing challenges in cases where space is limited, such as tight clearances between the PSU bay and 3.5-inch drive cages.
In terms of performance, the RMx SHIFT White series PSUs boast stable output and up to 90% efficiency. This is achieved by the use of premium materials and components, ensuring the PSU's stability and durability. Furthermore, the series incorporates a 140mm fluid dynamic bearing fan engineered with a meticulously calculated fan curve for high performance, low noise, and exceptional reliability. Additionally, the fan offers a zero RPM mode under light workloads, allowing for near-silent operation.
To accommodate various user demands, the RMx SHIFT White series PSUs come equipped with the new Corsair Type 5 Gen 1 connector. Although the cables still follow the ATX 3.0 standard, they feature a 12VHPWR connection for compatibility with GeForce RTX 40-series graphics cards.
