On May 1st, according to the official WeChat account of China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. Ninth Company, the eighth continuous steel box girders of the Hezhou Interchange B Ramp of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway Phase II Project in Shenzhen, constructed by Shenzhen Expressway Investment and Construction Group and subcontracted by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group, were rotated for the first time in Shenzhen.

The steel box girders in this construction are of a three-span continuous structure with spans of 70 meters, 110 meters, and 70 meters respectively, designed with a single-box double-chamber layout, distributed between piers 17 and 20. Among them, the eighth connection needs to cross over the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and is arranged at a 39-degree angle. s_4ec2f1cbdbba44e7af029a9e3c592ee3.jpg Considering the impact of construction on the operation of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, the engineering team has adopted a construction method of assembling segments first and then rotating them simultaneously. Pier 18 has a rotation length of 123 meters at an angle of 28 degrees, while Pier 19 has a rotation length of 96 meters at an angle of 47 degrees. Both spans of the steel box girders are of planar curved shape, with a curve radius of 320 meters. Smooth control of the girder during the rotation process has become a construction challenge. s_50f129c08533487a8e226eb87dc5a01b.jpg In the face of tight deadlines and heavy workloads, the project management team quickly mobilized to optimize construction plans, focusing on key tasks such as pier construction and ball joint installation, achieving zero errors in construction. Despite the high traffic volume and complex construction environment of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, the rotation construction was successfully completed under the meticulous organization and strict supervision of the project management team.

The rotation construction this time utilized an intelligent automatic continuous traction system, completing the synchronous rotation of two-span steel box girders in just 42 minutes. This success has laid a solid foundation for achieving the goal of opening B Ramp to traffic by the end of May.

The second phase of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway Shenzhen section is expected to be completed and opened to traffic simultaneously with the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage in June 2024. Upon completion, the project will effectively improve the traffic situation at Shenzhen Airport, enhance the connectivity of the main east-west expressways in Shenzhen, and play a significant role in enhancing the overall benefits of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway network and promoting the economic development of Shenzhen and the entire Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. s_87cd5d61dba74ab0a59780383700431a.jpg
