According to the official website of Beijing Institute of Technology, Comrade Jiang Lan has been appointed as the President of Beijing Institute of Technology (Vice-Ministerial Level) and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.

Jiang Lan, born in July 1972, is a postgraduate, a doctor of engineering, a member of the Communist Party of China, a professor, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He previously served as the Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology.
Jiang Lan has long been engaged in research on laser micro-nano manufacturing. He proposed improvements to the dual-temperature model and the plasma quantum model, solving two theoretical challenges that have long constrained femtosecond laser manufacturing. He introduced a new principle of femtosecond laser electron dynamic control processing and invented new technologies such as femtosecond laser electron dynamic control drilling, leveling, and patterning, which have been applied in several major national scientific and technological projects/equipment. In November 2023, Jiang Lan was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
