On May 28th, it was reported that the Fourth BEYOND International Science and Technology Innovation Expo was held in Macau, China. Participants in the discussion included He Jiandong, President of the Macau Technology Association, Xu Bing, Co-founder of SenseTime Technology, Liu Qingfeng, Chairman of iFlytek, and Zhang Wen, Founder of Birun Technology.

They collectively discussed the advantages of China and the US in the field of AI, the reasonable boundaries of AI development, and the opportunities for AI entrepreneurship. S0935dd16-29b8-4b6d-8442-0eed16437f57.jpg Image Source: Organizers of the conference

Xu Bing pointed out during the discussion that although there is currently a tenfold gap in computing power between China and the United States, this gap is expected to gradually narrow with significant investment.

He believes that with the rapid development of domestic chips, the gap in computing power, as a commodity, can be bridged.

Xu Bing also mentioned that the value created by AI in the past decade amounts to $2 trillion, equivalent to the market value of NVIDIA, indicating that China still has enormous potential for development in the field of AI.

Zhang Wen, the founder of Biru Technology, which, along with SenseTime and iFlytek, was included in the U.S. Department of Commerce's "Entity List," expressed that for his next venture, he does not want to engage in the AI industry again but may choose to enter the catering industry, a sector not subject to U.S. sanctions.

He humorously remarked, "I wonder if (this enterprise) will have an impact on McDonald's in the United States."
