On April 23rd, China Science Daily and Sina Weibo signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing. Zhao Yan, President and Editor-in-Chief of China Science Daily, and Cao Zenghui, Senior Vice President of Sina Weibo, represented the respective parties in the signing. Jin Yong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor at Tsinghua University, attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech.

"I am 89 years old this year, but I still want to contribute my remaining energy," said Jin Yong in his speech. He emphasized that the widespread dissemination of scientific knowledge and the promotion of the scientific spirit are necessary for the times, conducive to the overall improvement of national quality, and essential for the emergence of more innovation and scientific talents. He expressed great pleasure in seeing more and more young people engaging in science popularization and science communication. He hoped that young science enthusiasts could make good use of new media platforms, engage in lifelong learning and science popularization, and contribute their knowledge to society.

It is reported that the China Science Daily and Sina Weibo have reached a strategic cooperation agreement, aiming to achieve resource sharing, complementary advantages, and operational innovation through strong collaboration. According to the agreement, both parties will leverage their respective advantages and platform resources to tell the stories of scientists, interpret technological advancements, and promote scientific literacy through new media dissemination.
On that day, the two sides announced the launch of the "Knowledge Ambassador Excellent Popular Science Author Growth Plan," inviting more scientific workers to join the science communication matrix. It is understood that this plan will select and recommend outstanding popular science authors from the entire network based on professionalism, dissemination, influence, and other aspects, attracting more outstanding individuals to join the ranks of science communication. In the future, the China Science Daily, in collaboration with Sina Weibo's "Weibo Science Popularization," will announce the selected "Knowledge Ambassadors" on a monthly basis and publish the reasons for their selection. The selected bloggers will not only become members of the China Science Daily's communication camp but also join the growth plan specially designed by Sina Weibo for "Knowledge Ambassadors," receiving support from a large-scale resource pool. Over the next year, the Weibo Science Popularization Program will support 100 science popularization influencers with millions of followers, helping knowledge dissemination and science popularizers to gain broader recognition.
Zhao Yan stated in his speech that continuously building an integrated media platform to promote the spirit of scientists and deepen the work of popularizing science is an important direction and goal of science communication in the new era. He hopes that both sides can leverage their respective strengths and, through forms like the "Knowledge Ambassador Excellent Popular Science Author Growth Plan," continue to produce more and better scientific content, jointly making greater contributions to China's science communication cause.
Cao Zenghui mentioned in his speech that the direction and concept of science communication between the China Science Daily and Sina Weibo are complementary, and their cooperation is conducive to jointly exploring a more diverse and innovative paradigm of science communication. At the same time, by building bridges for science communication and inviting more scientists to participate in science communication, it helps to bridge the "last mile" of popular science in the online communication ecosystem.
Gou Lijun, a researcher at the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and well-known blogger Zhang Chi, along with many other scientists and Weibo science popularization influencers, attended the signing ceremony and jointly launched the creation of the Weibo Science Communication Matrix. During the event, the documentary series "Pioneers of Science" promoting the spirit of scientists was also screened.
