On April 30th, the China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. recently released its financial report for the year 2023.
In 2023, the national railway group achieved operating income of 1.2454 trillion yuan, a 10.5% increase from the previous year, with a net profit of 3.3 billion yuan.
In terms of passenger traffic, the national railway transported 3.68 billion passengers in 2023, with peak daily passenger traffic exceeding 20 million, setting new historical records for both annual and peak daily passenger traffic.
For freight transportation, the national railway transported 3.91 billion tons of goods in 2023, also reaching a new historical high.
By the end of 2023, the operational railway mileage nationwide had reached 159,000 kilometers, with the high-speed rail network extending to 45,000 kilometers.
Since 2023, the national railway group has actively responded to the rural revitalization strategy, leading to 22 more counties gaining access to railways after years without rail service.
