On April 28th, to celebrate the significant achievements made in the implementation of the China-Cuba Sericulture Technology Cooperation project over the past ten years and to further deepen cooperation between the two sides, the China-Cuba Sericulture Technology Cooperation 10th Anniversary Achievements Conference will be held in Beijing.

In his speech, Zhou Nanping, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, introduced the school's history, characteristics, and development achievements. He emphasized that the Sino-Cuban sericulture technology cooperation project has received high attention from the leaders of both countries. Jiangsu University of Science and Technology has always attached great importance to the development of the project. He stated that the cooperation results in the field of sericulture technology between the two countries have become a model of the Belt and Road Initiative in Latin America and a new symbol of the friendly relations between the two countries, reflecting the concrete practice of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Bai Shide, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to China, pointed out that over the past decade, the Sino-Cuban sericulture technology cooperation project has achieved great success, greatly promoting Cuba's development in sericulture, livestock feed, biomedicine, and other fields, making a significant contribution to deepening the friendship between China and Cuba.
At the meeting, Li Long, the person in charge of the Chinese side of the Sino-Cuban sericulture technology cooperation project and a foreign academician of the Cuban Academy of Sciences, reported on the process, research content, team building, and project results of the Sino-Cuban sericulture technology cooperation.
Guo Hong, Director of the Department of Foreign Cooperation and Exchange of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, emphasized the significant importance of Sino-Cuban sericulture technology cooperation. Both China and Cuba have achieved great results in practical cooperation in sericulture technology, including the cultivation of new varieties, the construction of agricultural demonstration parks, the development of silk biomaterials, and talent training. The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology will fully support the application and construction of the China-Cuba Sericulture "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory, promoting better development of scientific and technological cooperation between China and Cuba.
Before the symposium, Zhou Nanping had a friendly conversation with Ambassador Bai Shide and once again invited him to visit Jiangsu University of Science and Technology.
