Recently, China commemorated the 30th anniversary of its connection to the international internet, with several internet giants gathering at the "China Internet 30th Anniversary Development Symposium."
According to the China Internet Association public account, April 20th marked the 30th anniversary of China's full access to the international internet. The association held the "China Internet 30th Anniversary Development Symposium" in Beijing.
It's reported that Tencent CEO Pony Ma, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, Sohu CEO Charles Zhang, and 360 founder Zhou Hongyi, among other internet industry leaders, attended the forum.
Notably, Zhou Hongyi shared a photo of the meeting on Weibo, showing Ma Huateng shaking hands with him with smiles. Ma also praised Zhou for his recent success as an internet celebrity in short video content.
On April 20, 1994, China opened its first 64K international dedicated line, achieving full connectivity to the international Internet and becoming the 77th member of the global network.
According to the "China Internet Development Status Report," by December 2023, the number of internet users in China had reached a staggering 1.092 billion people.
