China Association for Science and Technology to Launch Series of Activities for "National Science and Technology Workers' Day"

On May 23, it was announced at a press conference held by the China Association for Science and Technology that this year's May 30 marks the eighth "National Science and Technology Workers' Day." With the theme of "Promoting the Spirit of Scientists and Being the Vanguard of High-level Science and Technology Self-reliance and Self-strengthening," the China Association for Science and Technology will focus on promoting exemplary figures, series of exhibitions, themed activities, literary and art performances, volunteer services, and other core content, launching various activities.

On May 30, the China Association for Science and Technology will hold the inaugural exhibition of the China Scientists Museum, which will officially open to a wide range of science and technology workers and the general public. Simultaneously, 287 national education bases for the spirit of scientists will jointly host the "National Check-in Exploration" activity. During the "National Science and Technology Workers' Day," a "Scientists Map" will also be released in the form of an online map, integrating modern technologies such as VR displays, AI generation, and interactive data intelligence. This platform will combine functions such as reservations, displays, explanations, evaluations, etc., to gather and present national resources of scientific spirit exhibitions, providing an efficient, intuitive, and rich platform for accessing information on the spirit of scientists, aiming to vigorously promote the spirit of scientists throughout society.

The China Association for Science and Technology will also organize a themed literary and art event titled "Singing the Spirit of Scientists," initiating a public welfare song creation campaign under the theme of "Singing the Spirit of Scientists." Through five carefully designed sections and various forms of literary and art performances, the event will showcase the brilliant development of Chinese science and technology and the profound heritage of the spirit of scientists.

During this year's "National Science and Technology Workers' Day," the China Association for Science and Technology will enhance the quality, expand the coverage, and increase the effectiveness of the "Backbone of the Republic - Science Master Promotion Project." Utilizing platforms such as the "Academic Style Nurturing Studio" and the "Scientists' Story Co-creation Space," a wide range of drama creations will be carried out to cultivate, select, and recommend a group of outstanding scientist story stage plays. Over 20 plays will be performed in more than 50 shows at universities and science museums nationwide, aiming to deeply touch the hearts of the audience with the inspiring stories of scientists.

Furthermore, the China Association for Science and Technology will conduct science and technology volunteer service activities, enhancing the brands of science and technology volunteer services such as "Serving the People and Developing Counties" and "Wings of Soaring." They will also promote the "Standardized Guidelines for Science and Technology Volunteer Services." National societies and local science associations will organize science and technology volunteers to utilize new era civilization practice centers, party and community service centers, and community service centers to focus on grassroots work and public needs in areas such as agricultural industry development, scientific education, and mental health. They will engage in diverse forms of science and technology volunteer service activities, bringing the spirit of scientists to the forefront and making a difference in various fields. During the "National Science and Technology Workers' Day," over 1000 science and technology volunteer service activities are expected to be held daily, reaching an estimated 2 million people.

As of now, the themed website for the 2024 "National Science and Technology Workers' Day" has gathered and displayed nearly 20,000 activities organized by national societies, local science associations, and grassroots organizations. Starting from May 25, the 287 national education bases for the spirit of scientists across the country have been displaying the slogan "530" on electronic screens, collectively creating a festive atmosphere.
