On May 25th, according to China General Nuclear Power Group, Unit 4 of the Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Station in Guangxi, using the "Hualong One" third-generation nuclear technology developed independently in China, has completed its trial operation and officially started generating electricity.

Both Unit 4 and Unit 3 of the Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Station in Guangxi utilize the self-developed third-generation nuclear technology "Hualong One". The two units have an annual power generation capacity of up to 18 billion kilowatt-hours, which can meet the annual electricity demand for production and living of 2 million people.

It can reduce coal consumption by over 5.436 million tons annually, decrease carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 14.832 million tons, and the environmental benefits are equivalent to afforesting over 40,000 hectares of land each year. s_871883e9354e49ac9cc5fc6788c23a60.jpg The commissioning of both units for power generation marks the comprehensive completion of the CGN "Hualong One" demonstration project, further validating the safety, maturity, and advancement of the "Hualong One" technology, and accumulating valuable experience for the mass construction of "Hualong One."

It is understood that the "Hualong One" is an advanced third-generation pressurized water reactor nuclear power technology independently developed and successfully constructed in China based on over thirty years of nuclear power research, design, construction, and operation experience, with complete independent intellectual property rights in design, equipment, fuel, software, construction, operation, and maintenance. s_3ffd40f2442a43ce868cd2458a709a1f.jpg In terms of safety, the Hualong One reactor innovatively adopts the safety design concept of "active plus passive," incorporating comprehensive measures for severe accident prevention and mitigation. Drawing on lessons learned from the Fukushima accident, it meets the latest Chinese and international nuclear safety regulatory standards, achieving or surpassing the requirements of international third-generation nuclear power users in terms of safety, technology, and economic indicators.

The Hualong One reactor adheres to the world's highest safety requirements and the latest technological standards, forming a highly mature technical solution through progressive improvements.
