Dozens of professionals from the technology industry gathered to focus on cutting-edge topics in the current technology field, delving deep into the development trends and broad prospects of the technology industry in the AI genesis era.

During the afternoon session on the 15th, Gong Ruinan, the Chief Operating Officer of Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science and Technology Park, delivered a speech titled "Technology for Good, People-Oriented."

Gong Ruinan believes that technology for good and being people-oriented are the common denominator and shared values that technology companies should uphold.

Here is an excerpt from the speech by Gong Ruinan, Chief Operating Officer of Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science and Technology Park, edited by "Jiazi Light-Year":

Hello, I am Gong Ruinan, the Chief Operating Officer of Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science and Technology Park. Today, our speech topic is artificial intelligence. Regarding this topic, I would like to borrow wisdom from ancient times and share my insights with you through three lines of poetry.

1. Artificial Intelligence Brings Infinite Business Opportunities

The first line of poetry is: "The new Jiazi arrives with the old Renchen seen again." Although this line of poetry is concise, it carries profound meaning. It describes the changes and rebirth of an era, just like the unprecedented transformation we are currently experiencing. I also want to pay tribute to the organizers of this event, "Jiazi Light-Year," with this line of poetry, as "Jiazi" in Chinese culture represents the cyclical nature of time and renewal.

When mentioning "Jiazi," I can't help but think of a concept in Western economics - the Kondratieff cycle. The Kondratieff cycle is the longest cycle in all cycle theories, lasting about fifty to sixty years, corresponding to China's "Jiazi." It depicts the profound impact of each technological revolution on the economy. So, which stage are we in now? It is widely believed that we are at the end of an old cycle, with the dawn of a new era approaching. In this new era, everyone looks forward to the leading role that artificial intelligence can play.

From the perspective of my academic background, I believe that this round of AI democratization driven by large models is not limited to the economic cycle. It is profoundly changing our way of life, work, and thinking. The development of artificial intelligence will not only drive economic growth but also promote social progress and civilization development.

Looking at it from the perspective of the cognitive revolution of humanity, there are several key points worth noting. First, our ancestors began using language for efficient information transmission, which greatly improved the efficiency of information dissemination compared to the ways animals communicate. Then, in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cai Lun invented paper, significantly reducing the cost of disseminating written information, further promoting widespread information dissemination. In 1938, Shannon's information theory established a mathematical model for representing information, ushering in the great information age that continues to this day. Now, the emergence of companies like OpenAI represents a significant change in the cost structure of universal knowledge dissemination from language to text to now. The acquisition and use of knowledge are becoming increasingly affordable, truly opening up a new cognitive era and bringing infinite opportunities to the business world.

This leads to the second line of poetry, "This feeling can be left as a memory, but at that time, it was already lost." I think this line can describe the journey of entrepreneurs. From enthusiasm to success, looking back on this journey, one often feels that things could have been done better in the past, but it was not clear at that time. From the perspective of artificial intelligence, although AI has broken through in recent years, entering various industries with an adoption rate exceeding 50%, and one could say "the boat has passed through myriad mountains," companies still face many challenges when truly starting a business.

From the perspective of enterprise development, the entrepreneurial process can be divided into several key stages: early-stage entrepreneurship, market validation, scaling, and eventual capitalization. Each stage comes with its unique challenges, which often mean high trial and error costs for entrepreneurs. For most people, the opportunity for entrepreneurship may only come once or twice in a lifetime, so the problems encountered are often entirely new.

However, from the perspective of Dongsheng, we are committed to helping companies address these common challenges. With nearly 20 years of experience serving over 10,000 companies, we have accumulated rich knowledge and resources. The three-year survival rate of companies served by Dongsheng is approximately 65% to 75%, which is comparable to Silicon Valley and far exceeds the average level in China. This is mainly due to the high-quality talent advantage in the region where Dongsheng is located. Therefore, we aim to leverage our 20 years of experience in serving entrepreneurial companies to help them address common challenges in the entrepreneurial process, thereby reducing trial and error costs and increasing the probability of success.

2. Technology Should Serve Human Happiness

The last line is "When you reach the end of the water, sit and watch the clouds rise." I believe this line can express a persevering and optimistic attitude. In the field of artificial intelligence, we currently face many uncertainties, including divergences in technological paths, a lack of mathematical theoretical foundations, and challenges and barriers brought about by geopolitics. However, these uncertainties should not hinder our progress. I personally maintain an optimistic attitude towards this. Because artificial intelligence is a problem faced by all of humanity, it will also be an opportunity to promote cooperation among everyone. As some politicians have said, there are two kinds of modernization in the world: one that sacrifices people for modernization and one that prioritizes people for modernization. Undoubtedly, our choice should be the latter, and I believe technology should be the same. From both our park's perspective and our role as service providers, we firmly believe that technology should serve human well-being rather than lead to alienation. Embracing kindness and human-centeredness in technology is the common denominator and shared value that we believe tech companies should uphold. This value is crucial for the success of all tech enterprises.

On the other hand, Dongsheng Technology Park is currently dedicated to creating the next generation of service models. We aim to build a smart ecosystem that fully realizes value integration and exchange, helps everyone increase their chances of success, and is oriented towards the future. This intelligent ecosystem will provide a shared open business scenario for all AI enterprises. We warmly welcome everyone to Dongsheng to face the intelligent era together and co-create a human-centered value community.

My sharing ends here, and I sincerely thank everyone for listening.
