On May 18, 2024, during YEF 2024, CCF, in collaboration with Alibaba Mom, officially launched the "CCF-Alibaba Mom Technology Bag Fund" (hereinafter referred to as the Technology Bag Fund), dedicated to building a cooperation platform for global university scholars, enhancing the integration and exchange between academia and industry, exploring algorithms, models, and key technologies of the new generation of artificial intelligence, and bringing world-leading innovative achievements to society and enterprises.

Tang Weiqing, Secretary-General of CCF, stated at the press conference that CCF, as an academic community in the computer industry, attaches great importance to building a platform for industry-academia cooperation. The CCF Industry-Academia Cooperation Fund was launched in 2013 and has since funded over a thousand projects. The collaborative results of these projects have had a positive impact in the industry, greatly promoting researchers' understanding of industrial needs. With the launch of this fund, it is believed that Alibaba Mama and the academic community will achieve a strong partnership, amplifying the application effects of large-scale model technology in digital marketing scenarios.
Zheng Bo, Vice President of Technology at Taotian Group, Head of Algorithm Technology, and CTO of Alibaba Mama, mentioned that the wave of large-scale models and multimodal technology is sweeping in. Standing at the new starting point of the "new generation artificial intelligence technology revolution" and facing a new landscape, it is essential for the industry and academia to collaborate. The Technology Bag Fund is the first fund released by Alibaba Mama for external cooperation, aiming to collaborate with outstanding scholars globally on the CCF platform.
Alibaba Mama's mascot is a kangaroo, hence the name of this fund, "Technology Bag." The fund hopes to become a bridge for communication between the academic and industrial sectors, inspiring interesting ideas and nurturing a batch of excellent cutting-edge technological achievements.
About the Technology Bag Fund
Large-scale models, as a key technology in the new generation of artificial intelligence, are currently a hot research topic in both academia and industry. They are also an important area supporting the development of new quality productivity in China. Large-scale models have already begun to be applied in Alibaba Mama's To B and To P (professional consumer) business scenarios: through AI marketing creative tools, intelligent marketing agents, intelligent design, etc., businesses can freely produce creative ideas, improve efficiency, and quality. By using intelligent bidding, enhanced analysis, intelligent asset management, businesses can optimize promotion strategies in a more refined manner and manage large-scale populations, goods, and content assets. Through content risk control and anti-cheating measures, businesses and platforms can more accurately identify and address risks, reducing losses.
The first phase of the Technology Bag Fund will focus on research in the field of large-scale models, launching 4 directions and a total of 10 research topics. The research topics are as follows:
Direction 1: Research on the application of large-scale models in e-commerce search scenarios
Direction 2: Research on the application of large-scale models in recommendation scenarios
Direction 3: Tool evaluation, automatic optimization, and task planning based on domain knowledge enhancement
Direction 4: Application of large-scale models in e-commerce content risk control and review
The funding support amount for each topic is RMB 300,000, with a project cooperation period of one year. During the project, to ensure that students can experience real industrial and application scenarios, Alibaba Mama will provide internship opportunities for students.
The deadline for fund applications is 24:00 on June 18, 2024 (Beijing time).

Conditions for Fund Application and Subsequent Timeline Plan
CCF and Ali Mama will jointly invite experts from academia and industry to form a technical committee and serve as project judges for joint evaluation. The expert review will mainly be based on the following criteria: the value, innovation, and feasibility of the proposed topic; the match between the submitted proposal and the project requirements; the applicant's execution plan and the value of deliverables; the academic level and research capabilities of the applicant (and team). Outstanding scholars from home and abroad are welcome to submit project applications.
