Surprisingly, in 2023, the sales of the Arctic Fox "Silent" saw a staggering growth of over 130% compared to the previous year, surpassing 30,000 units, with monthly sales nearing 10,000 by the end of the year.
To say it's not doing well would be an understatement, as its performance has outpaced many emerging forces and new brands.
And just recently, the Arctic Fox held its first-ever technology summit.
So, what kind of tech are we talking about? Is it hardcore enough?
In 2025, they'll start mass-producing wireless charging, with instant charging on parking.
The Darwin 2.0 technology system, which is what the Arctic Fox calls its full-stack intelligent vehicle technology.
The Aurora Battery, one of the core components of this system, adopts the latest solid-state battery technology.
At the bottom of the battery, there's the innovative "Xuanwu Armor" as standard, crafted with aerospace-grade materials and techniques. It boasts a 7-layer protection, with a strength of 1500MPa, comparable to armored vehicles. It also integrates insulation, thermal insulation, heat conduction, and corrosion resistance, considering the complexity of environmental conditions.
In addition, Aurora Battery pioneered the "Space Capsule Seal" technology. Choosing a highly hydrophobic silicon-based material as the substrate, with a hydrophobic rate of 97%, under conditions of being submerged in 2 meters of water for 48 hours, no water droplets entered.
The "Fireproof Blanket Insulation" technology integrates the functions of resistance, hydrophobicity, and control into one, ensuring that it always smokes but does not catch fire, with zero spontaneous combustion, guaranteeing personal safety. With 20 processes and over 6000 control points.
It is said to achieve zero spontaneous combustion for all-time and all-terrain safety. Additionally, Ji Hu also follows the example of Ji Ke and Huawei, claiming no spontaneous combustion records since delivery.
In terms of durability, based on real feedback, Ji Hu has had owners who have driven up to 500,000 kilometers, with the highest reaching 690,000 kilometers.
Owner data shows that Ji Hu's Aurora battery can achieve a mileage of 380,000 kilometers, and even in an environment of fast charging all year round, the health remains at 97.3%.
In terms of charging, Ji Hu will launch models equipped with 5C super fast-charging batteries this year, capable of increasing range by 233km in 5 minutes, 410km in 10 minutes, and 527km in 15 minutes. Even at -20 degrees Celsius, it can achieve an 80% charge in 16 minutes.
The key point is that Ji Hu will bring the price of models supporting 5C super fast charging to below 200,000.
Ji Hu will also connect with Huawei's liquid-cooled supercharging piles, creating a convenient charging circle within 15 minutes.
Finally, Ji Hu revealed its self-developed wireless charging function, expected to be mass-produced in 2025.
The Arctic Fox's self-developed tri-motor system: Benchmarking Porsche +1
With dual motors front and rear, delivering a total power exceeding 530 horsepower and wheel-end torque of 7000Nm, it achieves a 0-100km/h acceleration in 3.7 seconds, and the second 100km/h acceleration, from 60-160km/h, in just 7 seconds, maintaining uninterrupted acceleration for 46 consecutive times. On the chassis control front, it adopts the "Soulful Chassis" tuned by global test scenarios and world-class experts.
It's said that by integrating full-time intelligent technology, comfort is ensured under various road conditions and driving conditions. In simple terms, it's essentially a "magic carpet" chassis based on CDC electronic controlled shock absorption.
Moreover, Jihoo also achieves stability and safety in high-speed driving and emergency avoidance with intelligent braking systems, intelligent steering systems, intelligent suspension systems, and custom-made exclusive sport tires in collaboration with Michelin.
During track testing, Jihoo officially claims that the Alpha S5's single lap performance is comparable to that of the Tesla Model 3 Performance.
Intelligence: Besides Huawei, who else?
As we all know, Jihoo was Huawei's first partner in the automotive field, using the Hi mode at that time.
So it's natural for everyone to assume that Jihoo's intelligence is equal to Huawei's intelligence.
But this time, Jihoo showcased more.
Jihoo's "Second-generation Intelligent Cockpit" is equipped with the all-new Lingzhi OS system, which possesses four core capabilities: understanding, decision-making, correlation, and generation, providing a service experience akin to a digital assistant. Through the "Bai Mo Hui Chuang platform," Lingzhi OS can deeply explore and understand user needs, providing more intelligent and personalized services.
In terms of hardware configuration for autonomous driving, Jihoo Motors employs industry-leading 34 high-performance perception hardware, enabling all-weather, omni-directional environmental perception, ensuring the safety and reliability of the intelligent driving system.
On the software algorithm front, Jihoo Motors has also enhanced obstacle recognition rates through an innovative BEV+Transformer+OCC solution and introduced interactive game theory algorithms to optimize driving path planning, thereby improving traffic efficiency.
Of course, these are all official claims. As for the establishment of a self-developed team, computational resources, etc., which directly demonstrate the strength of intelligent technology, Jihoo has not disclosed.
Safety: What does "all-weather, all-around" mean?
Jihoo Motors has also optimized passenger comfort and safety. In collaboration with the Tsinghua University Art and Science Research Center, they have introduced color designs that appeal to Chinese aesthetics, such as "organic green" and "lavender purple" interiors, as well as a high-end sound system equipped with a 7.1.4 "panoramic sound" layout, providing users with ultimate audio-visual enjoyment.
Moreover, Jihoo Motors achieved near-perfect scores in C-NCAP active safety evaluations and obtained C-ICAP "5+ star" certification, maintaining a leading position in the field of intelligent driving.
It has already obtained the first batch of L3 level autonomous driving public road test license in China and actively participates in the national-level intelligent connected vehicle access pilot declaration work.
The Jihoo Automobile has built a comprehensive safety protection system based on six major safety shields, with the ability to provide all-weather and all-scenario safety protection.
