Wed, May 22 2024 06:51 AM EST

On May 14th, BYD stated to pulsestacks that, based on video evidence, it can preliminarily rule out the possibility of the vehicle leakage causing the owner's sudden brain hemorrhage.

BYD mentioned that regarding the "electric shock" rumors, the dashboard camera footage showed no abnormalities with the front passenger, and the owner was able to unbuckle the seatbelt and move freely. Additionally, with the vehicle's safety design ensuring electrical balance and no signs of leakage detected, it is preliminarily ruled out that the owner's illness was caused by vehicle leakage. It is speculated that the owner might have experienced a sudden brain hemorrhage leading to numbness in the limbs, mistakenly interpreted as an electric shock. Subsequently, the vehicle was driven away by the owner's family as usual.

BYD also expressed deep concern and condolences to the owner and their family, and is willing to actively cooperate with relevant authorities for further assessment and investigation.
