On May 26th, recent online leaks revealed a set of undisguised spy photos of the BYD M6, unveiling the new look of this all-electric MPV model.
It is worth noting that this model features a right-hand drive design, indicating its potential orientation towards overseas markets.
In terms of appearance, the new BYD M6 continues the design style of the Song MAX, especially the front headlight assembly which remains consistent with the Song MAX.
The new car's grille design is also familiar, connected to the BYD logo through chrome trim, showcasing the brand's characteristics.
Looking at the side profile, the size of the air intake openings on both sides is larger, with a more exaggerated shape, adding dynamic elements. The side of the body maintains the dynamic waistline design of the current model.
At the rear, the new M6 shows no significant changes compared to the current model, with larger taillights connected by a chrome strip, fitting its positioning as a family MPV. The rear badge indicates that the vehicle will be driven purely by electric power.
In terms of dimensions, based on the dimensions of the Song MAX, the new car is expected to measure 4710/1810/1880mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2785mm.
Specific details about the powertrain system have not been disclosed yet.
As a reference, the current Song MAX model uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain system, with an NEDC electric range of 51km and 105km.
The vehicle is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum power of 81 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 135 Newton-meters; the electric motor has a maximum power of 132 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 316 Newton-meters, paired with a ferrous lithium phosphate blade battery.
