Buying big is wasteful! Apple executives reiterate the suitability of 8GB MacBook: Equivalent to others' 16GB

On April 13th, Apple executives once again defended the MacBook products equipped with 8GB of memory, considering it to be a very suitable choice.

Evan Buyze from Apple's marketing team stated in a media interview that the 8GB MacBook is "perfectly suitable" for daily tasks.

These daily tasks include web browsing, lightweight photo and video editing, and streaming movies. This isn't the first time Apple has defended its business practice of equipping machines with 8GB of memory.

When asked about this issue last time, Bob Borchers, Apple's Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, stated that 8GB unified memory is equivalent to 16GB in other systems.

However, various tests by review media indicate that this configuration is not sufficient for running multiple applications simultaneously, leading to excess data being read from NAND flash memory, thereby reducing their performance and durability.

Apple's business strategy regarding memory is no secret, even when other systems in the Windows camp come standard with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage, Apple still opts for 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage.

Even as 32GB of memory plus 1TB of storage becomes popular in the Windows camp, Apple continues to insist on 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage, along with the tradition of increasing the price by $1500 for an additional 8GB of memory, and upgrading from a 256GB hard drive to 512GB for $1500.

The same applies to its iPhone series. Thus, Apple excels in making money through storage space; even when storage space prices are relatively low, they can still achieve high profits. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0413%2F0dbbd160j00sbvxm6000rd000go00b6g.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg
