On May 3rd, Apple's second fiscal quarter results showed revenue of $16.372 billion in Greater China, an 8% decrease from $17.812 billion in the same period last year.

In response, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that China is the "most fiercely competitive market globally" and expressed optimism about the long-term growth of the iPhone in the Chinese market, showing no fear of competitors.

During the earnings call, Cook remarked, "In an exceptionally competitive environment, we saw growth in iPhone sales in mainland China last quarter, which is very encouraging. I remain very bullish on the future development of the Chinese market. We are not focused on the next week or two, but rather on long-term growth."

During the earnings call, Cook reiterated that the best-selling smartphones in Chinese cities are the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Furthermore, Cook confirmed that Apple is continuing to work diligently on generative AI.

He emphasized Apple's unique approach to development, which he believes gives the company an "edge" to stand out in the AI era, promising to share "very exciting things" with customers in the near future.

Earlier reports suggested that Apple's first AI features would run locally on devices without relying on cloud servers, making Apple's AI more private and secure compared to other online services.

Apple plans to offer generative AI on devices, requiring significant CPU and GPU capabilities, with a focus on AI through the upcoming M4 chip release. s_afdc4b4a0e78431eae108f4caa096dbb.jpg
