On March 14th, at the 2024 Xuan Iron RISC-V Ecological Conference, Zhang Jianfeng, the director of DAMO Academy, announced, "In the second half of this year, everyone will be able to see the first terminal device based on RISC-V and Android on the market."

It was revealed that three years ago, Xuan Iron achieved the first adaptation of RISC-V to Android, opening up a new track for the RISC-V ecosystem to enter the vast application market.

According to reports, in 2021, the Flathead Chip Open Community announced that it had completed the porting of Android 10 to RISC-V, and the Android 10 system can run smoothly on the Xuan Iron 910 chip.

Clearly, Zhang Jianfeng was referring to the Android device based on Xuan Iron RISC-V.

In addition to Android, Xuan Iron RISC-V has been deeply integrated with operating systems such as Debian, Fedora, Gentoo, Ubuntu, Loongson, UnionTech, openKylin, Skyworth Coocaa OS, and RT-Thread.

The RISC-V architecture is considered the third path for China's chip industry after x86 and ARM architectures.

Ni Guangnan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out that the CPU market is currently dominated by x86 and ARM architectures. To break this situation and achieve autonomy and control, the open-source RISC-V architecture will be a major opportunity and development direction for China. s_b43be62d9d1143108056a1dfcd735de1.jpg
