On May 10th, BYD officially released the official images of the BYD SHARK pickup truck, which will have its global debut in Mexico on May 14th.
The official images reveal that the new car features a bold front face design, with a large area grille and a metal skid plate decoration below the front bumper, enhancing the vehicle's off-road capabilities.
The LED headlights are vertically arranged, with C-shaped daytime running lights surrounding them, and the upper part adopts a through-type design, providing the vehicle with a unique visual effect.
The body's side lines emphasize a sense of power, while common features in passenger pickups such as double-row seating layout, roll bars, and side steps further enhance the vehicle's practicality.
At the rear, the BYD SHARK pickup truck features a continuous tail light assembly, along with a roof luggage rack and black body kit, enhancing the vehicle's loading capacity and visual appeal.
In terms of powertrain, the BYD SHARK pickup is expected to offer a plug-in hybrid version and a pure electric version.
The new vehicle is based on BYD's DMO platform (Super Hybrid Off-Road platform), which is primarily electric-driven and can accommodate engines of two different displacements, 1.5T and 2.0T.
The new car will support functions such as 6 kW external power output, 20 kW on-site power replenishment, and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) power rescue, showcasing the platform's versatility and flexibility.
In addition, the BYD SHARK pickup truck is expected to be equipped with advanced features such as hydraulic active suspension system and streaming rearview mirrors, further enhancing the vehicle's comfort and technological appeal.
