March 13th Update: The BOOX Poke5 2024 Edition e-reader is now available for purchase, priced at ¥1029 upon its initial release.
Reportedly, the 2024 edition of the Poke5 features a screen cover panel made of flat etched tempered glass, and it comes equipped with the new Carta 1300 E Ink screen, boasting a pixel density increased to 300PPI.
The new e-reader boasts a performance package featuring a Qualcomm quad-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, coupled with 2+32GB of memory and a built-in TF card slot, supporting external storage of up to 1TB.
Moreover, it runs on the Android 11 operating system, allowing users to download and install third-party Android apps. Additionally, it comes equipped with dual-color temperature reading lights, enabling independent adjustment of brightness and color temperature.
In terms of connectivity, the Poke5 also supports Bluetooth 5.0 protocol and 2.4/5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi. It comes with a 1500mAh battery, with the official claim of "over 30 days of battery life with 2 hours of reading per day."
Additionally, the Poke5 e-reader supports 28 common reading formats. In typical PDF reading scenarios, it offers features like PDF reflow, automatic cropping, customizable fonts, font size adjustments, pinch-to-zoom for magnification, and automatic watermark removal.
