March 20 News: Recently, a set of unadorned spy photos of the BYD pickup truck were leaked, and the vehicle is currently close to being mass-produced.
As per the leak, this vehicle is supposedly the first pickup model in BYD's Ocean series, with both plug-in hybrid and pure electric powertrains expected, and a potential official unveiling later this year.
Judging from the spy shots, the BYD pickup boasts a rugged appearance, featuring a boxy front end with bold silver accents and a large "BYD" logo emblazoned on the grille. The LED headlights are arranged vertically and framed by C-shaped daytime running lights, while the贯穿式 design enhances its distinctiveness.
In terms of details, the vehicle is also equipped with a roll cage and side steps, while the newly designed rims add a touch of style.
Based on previously released spy shots of the interior, the BYD pickup features a rectangular floating LCD instrument panel and central control display. The air conditioning vents and the gear lever area have a novel button design, with an overall style similar to the Fangyuan Leopard 5.
Moreover, the car will feature a new design for the four-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The interior layout leans toward that of a passenger car. The high-spec models are expected to offer a HUD heads-up display function.
In terms of power, the BYD pickup will offer both hybrid and pure electric powertrains. Previous information suggests that the car may be equipped with a hydraulic active suspension system and a streaming media rearview mirror, among other features.
