On April 9th, according to the official WeChat account "Customs Release", customs officers at the Beijing Customs affiliated Daxing Airport made a startling discovery during routine inspections. They noticed an anomaly in the X-ray images of a passenger's luggage.

Upon opening the luggage for inspection, officers found a large number of parasites soaked in test tubes and jars, totaling 57 bottles. The passenger claimed they were intended for experimental use. s_fa4f5f5363444393abf63ad5ed7bff72.png Laboratory identification has confirmed these parasites as Hysterothylacium aduncum, Clonorchis sinensis, Anisakis simplex, Bothriocephalus acheilognathi, and Raphidascaris chirocentri (currently without a Chinese name), totaling five species.

The customs department cautions: According to the "Catalogue of Animals, Plants, and Their Products and Other Quarantine Materials Prohibited from Being Carried or Mailed into the People's Republic of China," without approval and permission from the relevant national administrative departments, the aforementioned items are not allowed entry. s_cf0fa4fe60234104b29d2ac7cf3d44f3.png It is reported that customs frequently intercept incoming organisms, including the notorious red imported fire ants, bamboo beetles, and giant stag beetles.

These organisms, as invasive species, easily establish themselves in new habitats, posing threats to the local ecological balance. Moreover, they may carry unknown pathogens, potentially spreading diseases that endanger human health.
