On April 18th, according to reports from multiple domestic media outlets, a woman in Lin'an was bitten on the forehead by a five-step snake while taking a walk, and then she was bitten on the lower back by a tick.

She rushed home, and her family promptly took her to the hospital for treatment. After receiving medical care, her condition improved.

The woman expressed that she had never experienced such a situation before and felt lucky to have escaped unharmed.

According to data, ticks are temporary parasitic insects of the order Parasitiformes, with approximately 800 species worldwide. They are very small in size, generally between 2-10 millimeters; their bodies can be divided into two parts: the capitulum and the idiosoma, with the capitulum located at the anterior end of the idiosoma. The idiosoma is bag-shaped, mostly brown, and covered with a shield.

In addition to causing harm to animals, ticks can also parasitize on the surface of human bodies to feed on blood, leading to various diseases in those who are bitten, and in severe cases, it can even be fatal.

Experts remind that whether found on the surface of the human body or animals, or on walls or floors, ticks should not be touched directly with hands but should be removed with tweezers or other tools.

If the skin comes into contact with a tick accidentally, the bitten area should be immediately disinfected locally with iodine or alcohol. If symptoms such as fever, inflammation, rupture, and redness occur at the bite site, prompt medical attention is necessary. s_d53ac36065e24b1bb1d8f05c835475cf.jpg
