Asia's First! "Haike One" Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit Set to Depart

On May 12th, it was reported that Asia's first cylindrical "offshore oil and gas processing plant" - the "Haike One," designed and built independently by China, set sail from Qingdao, Shandong, heading to the Luhua Oilfield in the Pearl River Mouth Basin.

This "super energy bowl" is comprised of nearly 600,000 components, weighing close to 37,000 tons, with a height equivalent to about 30 floors. Its main deck has a maximum diameter of 90 meters, covering an area equivalent to 13 standard basketball courts. With a maximum oil storage capacity of up to 60,000 tons, it is designed to withstand severe sea conditions occurring once in a century, with a design life of 30 years and the ability to operate continuously at sea for 15 years without docking.

Faced with the challenge of transporting such a massive structure, Chinese engineers demonstrated exceptional intelligence and skill. As the "Haike One" lacks propulsion to navigate independently at sea, a "big ship carrying a small ship" approach was adopted, loading it onto a semi-submersible transport vessel to shorten the voyage and reduce transportation risks.

This innovative approach not only ensures the safe transportation of the "Haike One" but also showcases China's strength and innovation in the field of marine engineering.

The "Haike One" will be towed to the deep sea at a depth of 324 meters for connection, serving alongside Asia's deepest water pipeline support platform, the "Haiji Two," in China's first deepwater oilfield - the Luhua 11-1 Oilfield.

This innovative "deepwater pipeline support platform + cylindrical FPSO" development model will provide a new solution for the efficient development of China's deepwater oil and gas fields, marking a solid step forward for China in the development of deepwater oil and gas fields.

With the deployment of the "Haike One," the development of China's deepwater oil and gas fields will enter a new phase. This advancement will not only drive the development of China's offshore oil and gas industry but also provide strong support for the sustained and healthy growth of the Chinese economy. s_acf247a2882546cb99d6b03c4bc25387.jpg
