Since October 2022, Twitter blogger Oscar Barea has been attempting to modify a 3dfx graphics card, using a new VSA-100 chip, and assembling it with various components.
Recently, he has finally completed this DIY graphics card, even equipping it with VGA and DVI dual interfaces, both capable of normal display output.
Oscar Barea expressed some disappointment with the display quality of the DVI interface, noting that it didn't offer a significant improvement over VGA. However, he observed that the images were noticeably clearer and sharper, with slightly better color reproduction. Nevertheless, due to inherent limitations, the graphics memory could only reach 32MB. Barea is currently exploring ways to potentially expand it to 64MB.
