[CNMO Tech News] Apple has rolled out the second round of developer beta testing for iOS 17.5, iPadOS 17.5, tvOS 17.5, watchOS 10.5, and macOS Sonoma 14.5. Among these updates, iOS 17.5 introduces the Apple Web Distribution system. Developers can access the new version through the Apple Developer Center, while public users can participate in the open testing by registering on the Apple Beta Software Program website. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0417%2F61e2f8ebj00sc26ej000od000go009eg.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg The new internal build versions are as follows: iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 are 21F5058e (replacing 21F5048f), tvOS 17.5 and HomePod Software 17.5 are 21L5553e (replacing 21L5543d), watchOS 10.5 is 21T5555d (replacing 21T5545f), and macOS Sonoma 14.5 is 23F5059e (replacing 23F5049).

Apple's Web Distribution system allows developers within the EU to distribute iOS apps directly through their own websites rather than the App Store, providing API support for online distribution, system integration, backup, and recovery functions. Such apps must meet notarization requirements, and the installation domain must be registered in App Store Connect.

There are few visible changes for users in the beta versions, including adjustments to the Podcast widget and changes to fee information in settings. Apple advises against installing beta systems on important devices to avoid data loss issues; testers should use alternate or non-essential devices and ensure important data is backed up.
