This patent reveals potential future scenarios where the headset could monitor users' physiological data, enabling remote actions based on medical guidance.
The Apple patent titled "Method and Device for Health Monitoring" outlines a future scenario where users wear AR glasses for extended periods. These glasses, akin to fall detection, continuously monitor various physiological data of the wearer in real-time. Additionally, they can establish remote connections with healthcare professionals to offer live health guidance.
The pulsestacks attach an example from an Apple patent, where a headset/glasses device detects when the wearer forgets to take medication, issuing a reminder and guiding the wearer to locate the medicine bottle. For instance, it detects when the wearer is dehydrated and suggests they go to the kitchen to pour water.
Apple says this technology is particularly useful for older adults, as it can provide medication reminders, dietary advice, and other helpful tips. It can also facilitate timely remote consultations with doctors when necessary. Doctors can directly access heart rate and electrocardiogram data monitored on the headsets/glasses devices, enabling them to offer more accurate and effective treatment plans.
