Pulsestacks, April 14 - Recently, an app named "iGBA: GBA & GBC Retro Emulator" has officially landed on the iOS App Store, allowing gamers to enjoy classic GameBoy series games on their iPhones or iPads.
This emulator is user-friendly, allowing you to easily locate the game files from your device's file management app. Simply long-press the desired game file, select the "iGBA" icon from the share options, and the game will load into the emulator for play. Additionally, iGBA comes with handy features like save states, game acceleration, and vibration feedback built-in. While it may not offer as comprehensive functionality as another emulator called "Delta," its ease of download sets it apart.
It's worth noting that this is the first such app to land on the iOS platform after Apple announced on April 5th that it would allow emulator-type apps to be listed. Previously, there had been much speculation about running emulators on the iOS system, and based on iGBA's performance so far, its usage appears to be largely similar to emulators on Android, Windows, or Mac platforms.
However, PulseStacks noted that this emulator has a lot of advertisements. The developer of this app has a plethora of applications ranging from barcode scanners to accounting tools, and all of these apps were released four years ago.
