On April 17th, Apple unveiled a new video ad titled "Farewell to Leather," stating, "The company has phased out leather from its accessories to help reduce its impact on the planet."

As an alternative to leather, Apple employs a material called FineWoven, a super-fine twill fiber used in iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands.

According to Apple, this material offers a soft, suede-like feel, with 68% of its composition being recycled, leading to significantly reduced carbon emissions compared to leather.

However, there have been considerable consumer complaints regarding Apple's use of FineWoven, with many users reporting rapid deterioration of their phone cases, rendering them worn-out in a short time.

Previous reports have indicated that this material employed by Apple may not withstand prolonged usage and frequent wear, prompting calls from users for the company to adopt better materials.

Apple has long been committed to promoting its environmental ethos, and this video release appears to align with the upcoming Earth Day on April 22nd. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0417%2F15819724j00sc2pbi000vd000go009dg.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg
