April 23rd news, according to the latest data from market research firm Counterpoint, Apple Inc.'s iPhone sales in China fell by 19% in the first quarter, marking its worst quarterly performance since 2020.

Apple has dropped to third place in the fiercely competitive Chinese market, roughly equal to Huawei, which has seen its sales increase by nearly 70%, clearly capturing the high-end market that Apple once dominated.

The overall market grew by about 1.5%, with local brands such as Honor and Xiaomi leading the growth. ae48d746-0751-4bf5-a868-80939875e78a.jpg Counterpoint senior analyst Ivan Lam stated that Huawei's products have directly impacted Apple's performance in the high-end market, resulting in suppressed quarterly sales for Apple.

Additionally, consumer demand for upgrading to new Apple devices has slightly decreased compared to previous years. s_43b50b15fe81409185f202ff94b1c670.png It's worth noting that the Huawei Pura 70 series has been released, now powered by the Kirin 9010 processor and still supporting 5G networks.

Moreover, the previously restricted imaging hardware shortcomings have been addressed. The Pura 70 now features a 1-inch large bottom sensor and has also developed corresponding retractable lens technology, allowing flagship 1-inch imaging to slim down the body. c1591cad-7aca-4f9f-8938-74915c0beeb2.png Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that shipments of the Huawei Pura 70 series will reach at least ten million units, possibly even twenty million, further encroaching on Apple's high-end market share.

Globally, Apple's share is increasingly being narrowed by Xiaomi.
