According to reports from Pulsestacks on March 28th, Apple's plans to release its first foldable screen iPhone have been postponed to 2027 due to technical challenges, as reported by South Korean media. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0328%2Fe3230842j00sb21ed000ud000m800bsg.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg According to a report by Alpha Biz, Apple has reportedly shifted the planned release of its foldable iPhone from the fourth quarter of 2026 to the first quarter of 2027 due to difficulties in sourcing components like foldable screens that meet its high standards.

The Information previously reported that Apple is still in the early stages of developing two foldable smartphones, both featuring a clamshell-style horizontal folding design. Recent leaks from Samsung Securities suggest that the first foldable iPhone will come with a 6-inch external display and an 8-inch main display.

Pulsestacks noted that South Korean media outlet The Elec reported last month that Apple is also considering launching another foldable device with a 7-8 inch screen, which could potentially replace the current 8.3-inch iPad mini.

However, despite the ongoing rumors, analysts are increasingly skeptical about whether Apple will introduce a foldable phone in the near future. This is because Apple is concerned that current foldable screen technology is not mature enough to realize the next-generation use cases envisioned by its engineers and designers.
