On March 15th, AnTuTu released its annual 3.15 Counterfeit Phone Report.

From March 2023 to February 2024, AnTuTu's device verification feature identified a total of 8,431,706 phones, among which 303,247 were identified as counterfeit or knockoff devices, accounting for 3.6% of the total. This marks an increasing trend compared to last year.

Counterfeit phone brands primarily include fake versions of Apple, Xiaomi, Samsung, and Huawei. s_3e6a2a676ca24772b304a7e431e3be64.jpg For instance, a device model T700-IM1075, when looked up, turns out to be a brand called "Xiaomi Zong," featuring a 14-inch tablet. The product description mentions a Snapdragon 8+ processor but oddly lists it as having 10 cores. This clearly indicates that the device is skirting the edges, attempting to leverage Xiaomi's brand recognition without direct affiliation. These devices clearly don't support 5G networks, yet they still flaunt a 5G logo. Even more ridiculous, some phone models are marketed as 5G devices, displaying a 5G logo right when they're powered on.
