"Youth is priceless, driving an excavator to Lhasa" and "Whenever I see a road problem, my motto is to dig it up!"

Recently, videos of 31-year-old Anhui native Xu Fei driving an excavator to Tibet, filling potholes, clearing fallen rocks, and helping tow cars along the way, have gone viral on social media.

On April 13, Xu Fei, the person involved, responded in a video, stating that he set off from Dangtu County, Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province on March 18 and has traveled over 3000 kilometers. The entire journey is over 4000 kilometers, and he is currently 1000 kilometers away from Lhasa.

When asked why he chose to go to Tibet, Xu Fei said that he is an excavator operator and often talks with friends about traveling. Inspired by them, he thought that excavator operators could also travel and appreciate the beauty of our country. Following the G318, he plans to reach Lhasa and then head to Xinjiang to fulfill his dream.

Originally, his excavator was track-type and couldn't be driven on roads. For this trip, he specially bought a wheeled excavator.

"Some people commented that my family owns mines, but actually, we are just farmers. My wife fully supports me, and my parents are also behind me," Xu Fei said.

He plans to continue his original three-month plan and head to Xinjiang as the next stop. "According to my current estimate, after buying and selling the excavator, I may lose tens of thousands of CNY. Plus, the cost of fuel and living expenses along the way, it may cost over ten thousand CNY."

Xu Fei shares his daily stories online and with his family. "In my wife's words, when I've had enough of this adventure, I'll come home." s_2b7f93f7c0a346ae8ab3575024e6bb2f.jpg
