American Moon Lander "Crashes and Burns" - Sends Back Only One Photo!

On March 27th, Intuitive Machines, a private American space company, announced the total loss of their lunar lander, "Odyssey," marking the end of its mission.

"Odyssey" set foot on the Moon on February 22nd, marking America's return to lunar exploration after half a century and becoming the first privately-funded spacecraft to land on the lunar surface. However, it encountered a series of malfunctions during landing, including issues with its navigation equipment. After landing, one of its support legs got stuck, causing it to tilt and collide with a rock, severely affecting its antenna and solar panels.

A full week after landing, Odyssey managed to send back only one photo before shutting down due to the lunar night, which forced it into hibernation. S1e6655fa-8151-4b4d-9914-9a837bd66aa7.png After over half a month of bitterly cold moonlit nights, the sun is shining once again on Odyssey.

Intuitive Machines has been trying various methods to revive it since March 20th, but there has been no response whatsoever. It's beyond resuscitation now. Sc56e95aa-ab97-46b1-a70b-926caaa0eb0e.png
