On March 30th, news broke that the next generation of Ryzen processors based on the AMD Zen5 architecture is drawing closer, as they have already surfaced in some shipping manifests. These include details on desktop and mobile variants, such as codenames, core counts, and thermal design power (TDP). Evidently, Zen5 Ryzen processors are undergoing transportation testing at various locations. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0330%2F3760eceaj00sb4deh000pd000go00b4g.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg The desktop version codenamed "Granite Ridge" comes in two variants: one with A0 stepping, featuring 6 cores and a 105W power consumption, and the other with B0 stepping, boasting 8 cores and a 170W power consumption.

Rumors suggest that the Zen5 desktop version will continue to adopt a Chiplet design and use the AM5 Phoenix interface, possibly with up to 16 cores. The GPU section may still consist of two RDNA2 units, with a thermal design power ranging from 65 to 170W, a significant improvement over the current generation. This time, it's likely that support for DDR4 memory will be abandoned.

Official announcements are expected at the Taipei Computer Show at the end of May, but the actual product release and market availability may not happen until the third or even fourth quarter. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0330%2F1c708b8aj00sb4deh0007d00061004fg.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg

The mainstream series, codenamed "Stirx Point," features Ryzen 9 and Ryzen 7 models with unspecified core counts, both on B0 stepping and a 28W TDP. This series is set for an initial launch, primarily targeting the Taipei Computer Show, with a maximum configuration of 12 cores (8 Zen5 cores plus 4 Zen5c cores), up to 16 units of RDNA3+ GPU, and a second-generation XDNA2 architecture NPU, operating within a thermal design power range of 28-45W.

The high-end series, codenamed "Fire Range," includes a 16-core Ryzen 9 and an 8-core Ryzen 7, both on B0 stepping and a 55W TDP. This series is slated for release at CES 205 early next year and essentially represents the mobile adaptation of the desktop Granite Ridge lineup, akin to the current Ryzen 7000HX series, with a thermal design power range of 55-75W. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0330%2F847e7eaej00sb4deh004xd000go00bdg.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg
