March 30th Update: The next generation of AMD Ryzen featuring the Zen5 architecture is getting closer as it has surprisingly appeared on some shipping manifests, revealing details about both desktop and mobile versions, including codenames, core counts, and thermal design power. Evidently, Zen5 Ryzen processors are undergoing transit testing at various locations. s_3279987a565e44209e2715e509db8fe7.jpg The desktop version codenamed "Granite Ridge" comes in two versions: one with A0 stepping, featuring 6 cores and a power draw of 105W, and another with B0 stepping, boasting 8 cores and a power draw of 170W.

Rumors suggest that the Zen5 desktop version will continue to utilize Chiplet design and the AM5 Phoenix interface, with a maximum of 16 cores. The GPU section may still incorporate two RDNA2 units, with a thermal design power ranging from 65W to 170W, representing a significant increase compared to the current models.

Official announcements are expected to be made at the Taipei Computer Show opening at the end of May. However, the actual product release and availability may have to wait until the third or even fourth quarter. s_d859a72a379648e0903d3f2674ccf7d0.png

This series is set to debut at the Taipei Computer Show, with models featuring up to 12 cores (8 Zen5 and 4 Zen5c) and a maximum of 16 units of RDNA3+ GPU alongside a second-generation XDNA2 NPU, with a TDP range of 28-45W.

The high-end series, codenamed "Fire Range," comprises a 16-core Ryzen 9 and an 8-core Ryzen 7, both with B0 stepping and a 55W TDP. This series is slated for release at CES 205 early next year, essentially transplanting the desktop Granite Ridge lineup to the mobile platform, similar to the current Ryzen 7000HX series, with a TDP range of 55-75W. s_3fde6ed1de2f4132abd7d3749cd8eef0.png
