AMD Releases Two Ryzen 8000F Processors: No Integrated Graphics, Available Only for OEMs

On April 10th, AMD quietly unveiled two new additions to the Ryzen 8000 series processors: the Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F. The "F" suffix indicates the absence of integrated graphics, similar to the previous Ryzen 5 7500F.

These processors stem from the Ryzen 8000G APU lineup introduced earlier this year, which includes the mobile Ryzen 7040/8040 series. Built on a 4nm process, featuring Zen4 CPU architecture and RDNA3 GPU architecture, they maintain compatibility with the AM5 socket interface. s_87de320b5b6e442d8bb71bbb420f2c06.png The Ryzen 7 8700F is a variant of the Ryzen 7 8700G, featuring the same 8 cores, 16 threads, 8MB L2 cache, 16MB L3 cache, and a 65W TDP. However, it lacks the Radeon 780M integrated graphics, with slightly lower core frequencies ranging from 4.1GHz to 5.0GHz compared to 4.2GHz to 5.1GHz.

Similarly, the Ryzen 5 8400F is derived from the Ryzen 5 8500G, boasting 6 cores, 12 threads, 6MB L2 cache, 16MB L3 cache, and a 65W TDP. It also lacks the Radeon 740M integrated graphics, with significant variations in core frequencies. Its boost frequency drops from 5.0GHz to 4.7GHz, while the base frequency increases from 3.5GHz to 4.2GHz.

Notably, the Ryzen 7 8700F retains the NPU unit, featuring the Ryzen AI independent engine, which is absent in the Ryzen 5 8400F.

Although these processors were announced at the recent AMD AI PC Innovation Summit in Beijing, they are not exclusive to the Chinese market.

For the time being, they are not available for retail but are only offered through OEM channels. s_1537932d192a4cd8bb87101c62e791fb.png
