AMD Announces Two New Ryzen 8000 Series CPUs: GPU Disabled! Is This a Special Edition for China?

On March 25th, during the recent AI PC Summit, AMD unexpectedly unveiled two new CPUs named Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F.

Last year, AMD released Ryzen 5 7500F, its first-ever product with an "F" suffix, which like its counterparts, lacked integrated graphics. However, the Ryzen 7000 series all featured only two units of RDNA2 GPU, so it wasn't a significant issue. However, the desktop version of the Ryzen 8000 series with Zen5 architecture hasn't arrived yet. Currently, we only have the Ryzen 8000G APU series with Zen4 architecture.

These two processors are likely the streamlined versions of the Ryzen 7 8700G and Ryzen 5 8500G, respectively, with the integrated GPU cores removed. The former usually comes with a Radeon 780M with 12 compute units, while the latter features a Radeon 740M with 4 compute units.

We're unsure if there are any other changes in specifications, such as frequencies. s_6f1f3e29035046a4b24119ed79fe24e3.jpg Interestingly, AMD chose to unveil these two products at a conference in China for the first time. Is it a China-exclusive deal? s_4483cb865c534adca253253238fb113f.png
